Delhi to Bir
Take the overnight Volvo bus from Delhi to Bir.
A three-day journey through less travelled parts of Kangra Valley. Paragliding, Tibetan culture, and old-world Himalayan villages.
A slow 3 day excursion to experience the Kangra Valley of Himachal Pradesh. The landscape here changes from the open valleys around Bir to the forests and meadows of Rajgundha, and finally the river valleys around Barot.
Bir Billing has its own mix of mountain life, Tibetan influence and a lively local culture, while Rajgundha feels more remote and closely connected to village life. Barot, surrounded by forests and the Uhl River, has a quieter character of its own. Together, these places offer a glimpse of Himachal beyond the usual tourist trails.
Exhilarating flight from Asia’s highest launch pad at Billing (2,430 meters), soaring high over the spectacular Dhauladhar mountain range. Gliders catch powerful thermals before smoothly descending to the lush landing meadows in Bir (1,400 meters).
A vibrant hub of Tibetan culture, deeply shaped by the Tibetan refugee community established there in the 1960s. Visit Chokling Monastery and Sherab Ling Monastery to experience the spiritual and artistic heritage of the community.
Nestled near Bir Billing, and surrounded by the majestic, snow-capped Dhauladhar range, this valley offers an authentic taste of old-world Himalayan life, with traditional wooden houses and lush stepped farming fields.
The Uhl river flows through the heart of Barot. It borders the Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary and features the historic, British-era Shanan Hydel Project.
Three days from the paragliding meadows of Bir to the forested river valleys of Barot.
